hi beautiful people! we’re back with another New Music Monday! *or wednesday* if i have to be honest, the amount of new music recently is almost overwhelming. my ears have been bouncing all over the place! this week, we’re talking about “Heaven” by Cleo Sol.

for starters, i am absolutely obsessed with this album. im a little familiar with Cleo Sol, but this was the first time I dedicated time to sit and listen to one of her projects from top to bottom. this smooth, soulful, stirring album is everything. a personal goal i set turning 21 was to practice mindfulness. everyday i wake up and stretch with intention, as “Heaven” plays in the background. truly, this is the perfect album to get your day started.

Cleo Sol has a way with words that match no other. there’s a simplicity to her self-affirming lyrics, easy to sing along to. her song “Go Baby” is in my top 3. this one gives early 2000’s, neo-soul, light some incense, and meditate. the lyrics “gotta keep movin’ on, even though you’re not here” and the outro repeating “love, i need you to know you are special” feel like a cool breeze on a warm Sunday afternoon, in a field of sunflowers. they remind me of my grandma 🙂

i can’t stress enough my appreciation for this album. as i mentioned before, i always need new music to match the changes of the season. this album should be the soundtrack to anyone going through a transition, as it’s been complimenting mine exquisitely. she’s announced another album to release at the end of September and i promiseeee to review that with you all! until next time!
